Background:
The Rajasthan Regional Chapter is one of the oldest chapters created by the national body some time around 1955. Originally the chapter was called as Jaipur Regional Chapter which was subsequently renamed as Rajasthan Regional Chapter by the decision of the national council of ITPI in the year 1996. The headquarter of Rajasthan Regional Chapter is Jaipur.

Today, the strength of the chapter is 97 of which 48 are fellow members.

Creation of Assets:
In the year 1999, the chapter procured a land from Jaipur Development Authority, measuring 2750 sq. meters in Jaipur at the cost of Rs. 3.65 lacs only at a prime location on the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru Marg. The untiring efforts of the members resulted not only in the allotment of the land but also at a concessional rate of 50% of reserve price. The chapter commenced the construction of its building almost instantly and first phase was completed within four months of commencement. The chapter building was inaugurated by the than President Shri D.S. Meshram on 11th April, 2001, when Shri Pradeep Kapoor was Chairman of the chapter. The cost of the first phase was Rs. 28 lacs and 50% of this was raised by the chapter. This phase consisted of one conference hall, one office cum library and three guest bed rooms with 4 bedded dormitory.
The second phase of the building was completed in the year 2004 at the cost of Rs. 32 lacs of which Rs. 15 lacs were contributed by the chapter. One air conditioned fully furnished conference hall with a seating capacity of 80 persons, three guest bed rooms and a dormitory (4- bedded) were constructed in the first phase.

The third phase of the project has also been commenced which is likely to be completed during the current year. During 2005 chapter procured a piece of land measuring 2000 sq. meter at Udaipur for newly constituted Udaipur center under RRC .In the year 2006 building of Udaipur center was completed at the cost of Rupees 80 lacs of which 50% was raised by Rajasthan Regional Chapter . The Udaipur center building is operational with a conference hall, office cum library and four Guest Rooms.
Achievements:
The first major event of the chapter was National Town and Country Planners Congress in the year 1958 on Development of Towns and Cities and in the year 1999 same was organized on the theme "Urban Development Planning - Challenges in the next Millennium". Besides this West Zone Regional Conference was organized by the Chapter in Udaipur on "Urban and Regional Planning and Development Law" in the year 2005. Number of times Rajasthan Regional Chapter was host for organizing ITPI Council meetings at Jaipur, Udaipur and Jodhpur.

At many occasions chapter played important role of advisor to the State Government, Development Authority & other agencies in the field of Urban Planning & Management.ITPI-RRC was nominated as member for Building Byelaws Committee of Jaipur Development Authority, Rajasthan Regional Chapter took lead in the field of water harvesting and conservation. With the financial aid from Rajasthan Urban Infrastructure Development Project under Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction (JFPR) a Rain Water Harvesting Structure was constructed in the premises of Rajasthan Regional Chapter at Jaipur at the cost of Rs.1.30 lacs. This project was taken up as demonstrative project for the officials of Urban Local Bodies in the State.

For imparting training to the officials of local bodies training modules were prepared by the Chapter. This helped in creating general awareness about Town Planning Principles and concepts among the officials and Public Representatives of Urban Local Bodies.
Publication:
Rajasthan Regional publishes news latter regularly the recent issue was published in month of December 2006 which was circulated at the time of 55th NTCP Congress held that Kochi (Kerala).

A chapter Diary was also published comprising of directory of members, prevailing Building Regulations in the state, ITPI Council and Prescribed professional charges for practice in Town Planning.

Service Charges for A.C. Hall is Rupees 4000/- for Full day (upto10 hrs) and Rupees 2500 /- for Half day (upto 5 hrs). For Non AC Hall Rupees 1000/- per day.
